Ten years ago, we were just two strangers.
We crossed paths under what looked like magical snow on a sunny May day—
turns out it was just styrofoam falling off a roof 😂
We looked at each other and both thought,
“Well… that was weird.”

A week later, it snowed for real.
We ran into each other again… and that’s when it started.
Now here we are, a decade later—
You’re my best friend, father to our daughter, BD’s (bonus dad) to our other two,
my biggest cheerleader… and somehow, my golf partner?!

(Still not over the fact that you got me into golf by buying me an outfit- Fully obsessed now)

This morning, my Gram passed away at 98 years old. She’s finally free—riding the waves without assistance, just as she always dreamed.

A couple of years ago, she shared her final wish: to stand in the ocean one last time. So we made it happen. We all took a trip to Florida—my husband Justin, my ex-husband Dave, the kids, and me—together. And there she stood in the waves, held steady by both Justin and Dave, her feet in the surf, her heart full. She wanted to do it on her own, of course—but that was Gram: fiercely independent, full of pride. Now, she doesn’t need help. Now she’s part of the tide.

Gram, I will celebrate your life every single day. You were my rock—steadfast, hilarious, deeply kind, and full of grit. You taught me perseverance, resilience, how to love with an open heart, and how to laugh. You were more than a grandmother—you were my safe place, my biggest believer.

When I was lost, you found me. When I felt unworthy, you reminded me of my worth. You’ve left me with a legacy of strength and softness that I will carry always.

I hope you’re up there now—maybe flirting with my best friend, causing a little mischief, laughing that infectious laugh of yours.

I love you endlessly. Swim free, Gram. I’ll see you in the waves.
